Iconic racers old and new will compete on WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca’s signature turn - backwards

MONTEREY, Calif. (Aug. 5, 2025) – Twenty unique entrants, ranging from a Targa Tasmania-driven 1951 Holden to a Pikes Peak-conquering 2025 Rivian R1T, will tackle WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca’s legendary turn during the fourth annual Corkscrew Hillclimb this Saturday, Aug. 9.

Since its inception in 2022, the Hillclimb has attracted a mix of serious competitors and vehicles entered purely for exhibition and entertainment. The signature counter-course event challenges drivers to navigate a unique uphill battle on the road course, as participants launch from the Start/Finish line, maneuver through Turn 11 and ascend the signature Corkscrew. In addition to bragging rights for conquering one of the world’s most famous turns backwards, drivers will attempt to break the track record of 21.958 seconds set last year by Max Chilton piloting the 2022 McMurtry Spéirling.

This year’s field will include exciting new additions, including the popular “Rexy” liveried AO Racing Porsche from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship piloted by Gunnar Jeannette, a 1995 IROC Dodge Avenger driven by Ray Evernham and an appearance from GRIDLIFE vehicles driven by highly skilled drifters.

The 2025 Corkscrew Hillclimb field will include:

  • 1951 Holden 48/215
  • 1953 Siata 208S
  • 1958 Austin Healey 100-6
