The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion today announced that the marque for the 2025 gathering will be a significant celebration highlighting the 75th anniversary of Formula One®, the world’s premier race series. The announcement was made at Saturday’s prize-giving ceremonies to close this year’s historic race gathering at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
This event promises an immersive experience for visitors by capturing Formula One’s thrilling legacy and explosive popularity on a global stage. The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will be held August 13-16, 2025.
Attendees can look forward to witnessing two dedicated historic F1 race groups featuring cars from pre-1966, along with the existing grid of 1966-1985 cars that competed this year in the Mario Andretti Trophy race. The addition of the pre-1966 class is a first for Monterey, with many of the entries expected from international drivers.
“I’m looking forward to returning to Monterey Reunion in 2025 to be part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Formula 1,” commented Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing. “McLaren has a long and successful standing in the series, so it’s fantastic to celebrate Formula 1’s history as we continue our battle to consistently fight at the front of the grid in the present. It’s one of my favourite events of the year, so I am excited to attend again with United Autosports as Monterey once again showcases its passion for motorsport.”
Friends of Laguna Seca Vice President Bruce Canepa concurs. “It’s the pinnacle of motorsports and we are thrilled to be celebrating F1’s heritage, and future, on the series’ 75th anniversary. While F1 has never professionally raced at Laguna Seca, the historic F1 cars that race during the Rolex Reunion have been keeping the passion alive for past, present and future generations.”
From its inaugural season in 1950, Formula One racing has evolved into the most prestigious and watched forms of racing on an international scale. Visiting 24 race circuits across 21 countries in 2024, Formula One is the preeminent showcase of driving talent, teamwork and engineering. It is unquestionably ground zero for automobile manufacturers and tire companies to test new and innovative technologies that will ultimately be applied to road going cars.

Since Giuseppe Farina, driving for Alfa Romeo, won the Driver’s World Championship in 1950, there have been 34 overall World Champions in the series’ 75-year history, led by Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher (seven each), followed by Juan Manuel Fangio at five. Each one has left indelible marks on the sport that has witnessed thrilling rivalries, technological advancements, and unforgettable moments on the track.
With more than 400 historic race cars, the Rolex Reunion is an annual high-speed exhibition of the finest examples throughout motorsports history. Each one is authentic and period-correct to the time it originally raced. This includes the early Ragtime Racers, which featured riding mechanics, to the high-speed prototypes that dominated iconic races like Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans. This unique gathering will be a remarkable tribute to the rich tapestry of motorsport history and a must-see for racing enthusiasts.
The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will salute and honor the past, while setting the stage for a dynamic look into the future. Tickets will go on sale in November, and early purchasers will get the best pricing. To stay informed, sign up for the Corkscrew Newsletter or visit WeatherTechRaceway.com.
