MONTEREY, Calif., August 20, 2026 β The prestigious Spirit of Monterey Award, which is presented to the driver or entrant who excels in the spirit of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, was presented to Ranson Webster for his 1976 Porsche 935 K3. Webster, a longtime historic racing participant, finished third in the Peter Gregg group.
βThis is the highest honor of the weekend,β commented Mel Harder, president and general manager of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. βRanson drove each session with expertise and a high level of sportsmanship, while also going all out. Itβs not about winning, but how well drivers present their amazing cars. And Ranson stood out this year for deserving recognition for his on- and off-track camaraderie.β
