The festive Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, presented by Montage Health, continues at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Thursday, Nov. 28 for a healthy, satisfying start to Thanksgiving Day feasts. All donations collected benefit the Food Bank for Monterey County. Last year, an impressive total of $10,185 in donations was collected.
Visitors who make a $10 cash, check or credit card donation between 7 and 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28 will enjoy a run, jog or walk at their own pace on the 2.238-mile race circuit where legendary drivers and riders have raced. The highlight of each lap will be standing atop the legendary Corkscrew for scenic views of Monterey Bay and the Salinas Valley before plunging down the signature turn’s six stories. Dogs are allowed and must always be on a leash. Reservations are not required, and donations will be accepted only onsite.
All donations benefit the Food Bank for Monterey County, which is the area’s largest provider of emergency supplemental food. For every $1 received, the Food Bank can purchase $5 worth of food for families in need. Canned and non-perishable food items will also be accepted.
“The Food Bank for Monterey County provides a vital service year-round for our community,” commented Lauri Eberhart, CEO of Friends of Laguna Seca. “It is a privilege for members of our team to commit their time to welcome the community to the Laguna Seca Raceway and Recreation Area and participate in healthy activities to raise much-needed funds that support such a wonderful, hard-working community organization.”
