The Laguna Seca Raceway and Recreation Area stays on track as it begins a new era under the leadership of Friends of Laguna Seca (Friends), the newly-appointed concessionaire responsible for the iconic motorsports facility that is home to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. As Laguna Seca prepares for the 2025 season, a mix of planned upgrades and long-term visionary projects is set to transform the venue into a world-class destination for motorsports, entertainment, and recreation.
Friends is developing a long-term master plan that aims to enhance fan experiences and elevate the raceway and park to new heights while preserving its historic charm. Improvements for 2025 include facility updates such as a new Turn 3 Hospitality structure, restroom and shower upgrades, landscaping improvements and a complete remodel of the pit row suites inside and out, and this marks just the beginning of an ambitious plan.
Lauri Eberhart, CEO of Friends of Laguna Seca, describes the thoughtful progress. "We're all very excited, and the ideas and plans are in motion. We are taking a strategic approach to the master plan, and we have to go slow and lay a solid foundation in order to go fast in the future and make sure things are done correctly from the beginning."
As part of its growth strategy, Friends has already approved significant initiatives, including a complete redesign of the raceway's website and improvements to IT and equipment. The new website will reflect the raceway's revitalization and increased fan engagement with easier access to information and events.
"The team at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has been waiting for the green flag on a few projects for a long time and it’s exciting to see some improvements in the early days of Friends' management,” continued Eberhart.
