MONTEREY, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2025) – The NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship weekend returns to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca next year, as officials announced today that the series will close out its 17-race season in Monterey on Sept. 4-6, 2026.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has a long history of hosting open-wheel series finales. The iconic 2.238-mile road course was the site of INDYCAR SERIES championship weekends in 2022-23, 2019 and 1989-96.

"We are delighted that the INDYCAR SERIES has decided to bring its finale back to beautiful Monterey,” said Mel Harder, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca president and general manager. “With the support of our local tourism community, the success of this year’s Java House Grand Prix of Monterey demonstrated motorsports fans’ passion and enthusiasm for this legendary track. We can’t wait to see everyone for an even bigger and better event next year."
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou posted his second Laguna Seca victory in front of an impressive crowd earlier this summer en route to his record-setting 2025 series championship. The 2026 event will mark the 29th time the INDYCAR SERIES has visited the fabled Monterey track.
“INDYCAR is pleased to continue its relationship with WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and, more importantly, as the host of the 2026 season finale,” Penske Entertainment Corp. President and CEO Mark Miles said. “Since the series return in 2019, it is clear that this historic and iconic circuit has become a favored weekend for our drivers, teams and fans. It has been a terrific addition to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship and will once again provide a picturesque backdrop for the presentation of the Astor Challenge Cup and celebration of next year’s champion.”
Tickets for the 2026 Grand Prix of Monterey will go on sale later this year. For more information, visit weathertechraceway.com. For the complete 2026 NTT INDYCAR Series event schedule, visit indycar.com
