Meet Associate of the Quarter: Alec Gamino

Alec Gamino was named Associate of the Quarter at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the first quarter of 2024, earning well-deserved applause and admiration. He received a certificate of appreciation and a special etched glass paper weight for his outstanding contributions.

Alec began his career at the renowned track in April 2023 as a Social Media Intern, after connecting with some of the staff through the Path To The Pits program during the 2022 IndyCar races. Joining the team at the start of the race season, Alec quickly found himself immersed in a fast-paced environment.  "You learn how to adapt to rapid changes and come up with even quicker solutions."

Managing daily posts and content across seven different platforms is challenging, especially at a racetrack. "One thing I love about working here is the variety. You’re always dealing with multiple motorsports, each with its own storylines and fan bases, so you have to constantly tailor content to stay relevant to current followers while also reaching new audiences. No day is ever the same."

Alec's eagerness to learn and positive attitude led to his promotion to Social Media Coordinator earlier this year. Shortly after, the track achieved a significant milestone when the track’s Instagram account reached 100k followers, up from around 60k last year. In addition to running the accounts, Alec is the go-to person for content, often knowing exactly where to find a specific photo among thousands. He has not only taken on more responsibilities but has also improved the quality of his work. During events, Alec can be found in and out of the media center, collaborating with the photography team, or out in the crowds engaging with fans in creative ways. Everyone enjoys working with Alec, who is always willing to lend a hand.

Alec's hard work and dedication have made a significant impact at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. His hard work and commitment have not only increased the track's online presence but also brought a fresh perspective to the team. As Alec continues to excel, his colleagues look forward to seeing what he will accomplish next.
