From car enthusiasts to cycling fans, astronomy lovers, and volunteers, there’s something for everyone this year at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Here’s a look at what’s coming up, including exciting new opportunities to become involved and contribute to the future of this iconic raceway.

Cars & Coffee

The quarterly Cars & Coffee launches the season on February 22. This year the community will be directly contributing to Friends of Laguna Seca, the 501c(3) non-profit working diligently to upgrade the facilities. The first event will be immediately followed by the Volunteer Kick-Off Event giving attendees or anyone who is interested in supporting the raceway an opportunity to stay and learn how they can help make a positive impact. Whether you're a car enthusiast or just looking to get involved, this event provides a perfect opportunity to meet new people and make a difference.

Twilight Cycling

Twilight Cycling returns this spring and runs until the fall. This event is a favorite for both avid cyclists and casual peddlers who just want to enjoy the views and the track elevation. Kids and push bikes are also welcome. This year’s calendar brings five opportunities to spin your wheels beginning April 2 through October 8. The track is open at 5:30 p.m. there is a $10 fee and waiver, and guests are welcome to ride as long or as little as they want until 7 p.m.. It’s a great New Year’s resolution if we ever heard of one.

Race to Space

The successful Race to Space returns for a second yea.  Hosted by the Monterey Institute for Research in Astronomy, Monterey amateur astronomy clubs set up their telescopes and both amateur and professional astronomers are on hand to guide guests through the night sky. The first date is set on February 21 and the dates always coincide with some interesting viewing opportunities above. For these events it is crucial that the area remain dark so leave your flashlights at home, bring a red light or a dim glow lamp instead. There is endless beauty in the atmosphere to be witnessed all year round. This event is free and family friendly.
