WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca’s historic motorsport gathering is a finalist for the 2025 Motorsport Event of the Year

MONTEREY, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2025) – WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is proud to announce that the 2025 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion has been named as a finalist for the Motorsport Event of the Year at the 2025 International Historic Motoring Awards.

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion was recognized as one of the most prestigious historic motorsport gatherings in the world for its unparalleled scope, significance and unforgettable experience. In 2025, the event reached new heights, offering a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of Formula 1’s 75th Anniversary, including more than 50 rarely seen historic and modern Formula 1 machines, and an unprecedented gathering of 24 of the original International Race of Champions (IROC) cars, spanning all seven generations and piloted by legendary NASCAR, Formula 1, INDYCAR and sports car racing drivers. With 14 race groups featuring more than 400 historic racing machines prepared to their period-correct racing spec, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is more than a gathering of cars, it is a living museum that educates, entertains and inspires.

“We are proud to be recognized by the International Historic Motoring Awards and to be included alongside global events that help set the bar for motorsports events around the world,” said Mel Harder, WeatherTech Raceway president and general manager. “This year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion was our best ever across almost every metric, and we are delighted to be considered for this award.”

The International Historic Motoring Awards, the most prestigious accolades in the world of classic and historic motoring, celebrates excellence, innovation, and dedication across the global historic motoring community by shining a spotlight on individuals, clubs, organizations, and events that preserve, promote, and enrich our shared motoring heritage. The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on November 14, 2025 at The Peninsula, London.
